Biography

Meredith Mahy Gall is the senior academic advisor for all majors in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures & Cultures and the Department of Spanish & Portuguese.  

She is committed to assisting students in determining, pursuing and achieving their educational, professional, and life goals. She loves helping students connect with cross-cultural and international experiences. 

Meredith graduated from Marquette University with a BA in German and English Education and from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a MS in Counseling and Student Personnel/College Student Affairs. Previously she has worked as a high school German teacher, Peace Corps Volunteer (Botswana), career development advisor, study abroad advisor, Peace Corps Recruiter, and administrative services coordinator.  

She serves on the board as treasurer of the Johnson County Chapter of the United Nations Association and coordinates Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Gatherings in the Iowa City area. She enjoys visiting her son in Minneapolis, riding bikes with her husband, playing with her two cats, walking in nature with friends, planning trips, and working on puzzles.
