Marisa Cid Torralba is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Spanish at the University of Iowa. She holds a BA in Hispanic Philology from the University of Salamanca, an MA in Secondary Education from the University of Girona, and an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from UNIR.

Her research interests encompass Early Modern Spanish literature, with particular emphasis on the Spanish Golden Age, Miguel de Cervantes, and Don Quixote, as well as women writers of the period. She is also interested in twentieth-century Spanish literature, particularly social poetry and women’s poetic writing, and in the fields of second-language acquisition, Spanish language pedagogy, and the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.

Her academic and professional background includes experience teaching Spanish language and literature in secondary education, as well as Spanish as a foreign language in Spain.
