Sebastián Lores is a PhD candidate in Spanish Literatures at The University of Iowa, where he also completed an MFA in Spanish Creative Writing. He holds a Master’s in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities from the Universitat de Barcelona. His dissertation explores the novella as a literary form through both critical and creative work, focusing on questions of memory, identity, and displacement in Latin American contexts. He has taught a range of Spanish language and culture courses, as well as literature in translation. His teaching emphasizes inclusivity, cultural immersion, and student engagement. Sebastián also has experience in publishing, curating, and writing across academic and artistic platforms.
