Biography

Violeta Vaca Delgado was born in Huelva, Spain. She holds bachelors in Mathematics and Comparative Literature from the University of Grenade, and a master's degree in Philosophical Critique and Argumentation from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She started a PhD on Contemporary Spanish Poetry and received a scholarship at the Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid, where she lived two years.

Her first book of poetry Suave como el peligro (Valparaíso Ediciones, 2019) was awarded the IV Valparaiso Poetry Prize. In 2021, she obtained a scholarship at Fundación Antonio Gala for young creators in Cordova, Spain. While being part of its twentieth cohort, she wrote her second poetry collection, still unpublished.

As a narrator, she is recently exploring horror and speculative genres. Some of her short stories have been published in magazines like Espejo Humeante, or in collaboration with projects like Meandering by TBA21–Academy.
