Violeta Vaca Delgado
Violeta Vaca Delgado was born in Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Comparative Literature from the University of Granada, where she graduated with honors, and a master’s degree in Philosophical Criticism and Argumentation from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She was awarded a research scholarship twice at the Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid, where she lived for two years.
As a poet, her first poetry collection, Suave como el peligro (Valparaíso Ediciones, 2019), received the IV Valparaíso Poetry Prize. In 2021, she was granted a scholarship at the Fundación Antonio Gala for Young Creators in Córdoba, Spain. While part of its twentieth cohort, she wrote her second poetry collection, Cristal y llama (Libero Editorial, 2024).
As a prose writer, she is currently exploring horror and speculative genres. Some of her short stories have been published in magazines such as Espejo Humeante and in collaboration with projects like Meandering by TBA21–Academy. She is also a frequent contributor to Principia, a magazine that combines science, art, and the humanities.
